In a move to fulfill a key campaign promise, President Trump issued Executive Order 14202 on February 6, 2025, establishing the Task Force to Eradicate Anti-Christian Bias. Chaired by Attorney General Pam Bondi, the task force released its initial report in June 2025 (revised August 2025), detailing a pattern of discrimination against Christians during the Biden administration. Drawing from agency investigations, witness testimonies, and data, the report uncovers over 150 allegations of bias, including a 59% spike in religious discrimination complaints in certain agencies compared to the preceding administration, President Trump’s first term in office.

The findings paint a dark picture of federal overreach, where Christian beliefs—particularly on life, religious liberty, and biblical views of gender and sexuality—were systematically targeted.

Below is a sampling of 10 of the most egregious findings from the report: violations of pro-life protections, infringements on religious liberty, and government imposition of ideologies conflicting with biblical teachings on sexuality and family, and more. These examples demonstrate not just isolated incidents but a coordinated assault on Christian convictions during the previous administration.

10 of the Most Egregious Findings

  1. Weaponized Prosecutions Against Pro-Life Activists (Department of Justice): The DOJ arrested and convicted nearly two dozen peaceful pro-life demonstrators under the Freedom of Access to Clinic Entrances (FACE) Act for praying and singing outside abortion facilities, highlighting a selective enforcement that criminalizes pro-life advocacy while ignoring violence against faith-based alternatives to abortion.

  2. Mandating Abortion Coverage Under Pro-Life Laws (Equal Employment Opportunity Commission): The EEOC twisted the Pregnant Workers Fairness Act—a bipartisan law intended to support pregnant women—into a mandate covering abortions, violating the religious liberties of Christian employers who view abortion as incompatible with their beliefs and the sanctity of life.

  3. Imposition of Radical Gender Ideology (Department of State): DOS forced employees and foreign governments to adopt LGBTQ policies, including mandatory use of preferred pronouns and display of rainbow flags, directly clashing with the sincerely held beliefs of many Christians on biblical sexuality and gender. This policy prioritized ideological conformity over religious freedom.

  4. Redefining Workplace Harassment to Enforce Gender Ideology (Equal Employment Opportunity Commission): The EEOC expanded harassment definitions to include denying biological men access to women's restrooms or using pronouns inconsistent with an individual's claimed gender identity, effectively compelling Christians to affirm ideologies that contradict their faith and exposing them to legal risks for upholding biological reality.

  5. Conditioning Foster Care Funding on LGBTQ Affirmation (Department of Health and Human Services): HHS threatened to withhold funding from faith-based foster care providers unless they affirmed LGBTQ identities, targeting Christian organizations that prioritize biblical views on family and sexuality, and potentially harming vulnerable children by sidelining faith-based providers.

  6. Harassment of Homeschooling Families (Department of State and Others): Christian families, often homeschooling for religious reasons, faced targeted Inspector General investigations, IRS referrals, threats of criminal charges, and accusations equating homeschooling to child abuse. This undermines parental rights and religious liberty in education, a key concern for protecting children from indoctrination often found in public schools.

  7. Labeling Traditional Catholics as Domestic Threats (Federal Bureau of Investigation): The FBI issued a memo (later retracted) classifying "radical-traditionalist" Catholics as potential domestic extremists, fostering an environment of surveillance and suspicion against Christians adhering to their closely held beliefs.

  8. Denial of Religious Vaccine Exemptions Leading to Discharges (Department of Defense, EEOC, Department of Labor): Agencies mishandled or denied religious exemptions to the COVID-19 vaccine mandate, resulting in consequences like discharges for Navy SEALs and other service members with sincere faith-based objections, often rooted in concerns over fetal cell lines linked to abortion research.

  9. Disproportionate Fines on Christian Universities (Department of Education): Christian institutions like Liberty University ($14 million) and Grand Canyon University ($37.7 million) were hit with record fines under the Clery Act, seemingly targeted for their worldview, stifling religious education and free speech on campuses.

  10. Censorship and Reprimands in Veterans' Care (Department of Veterans Affairs): Chaplains were reprimanded for delivering "divisive" sermons aligned with Christian doctrine, while employees seeking vaccine exemptions were publicly shamed as "plague rats," violating religious accommodations in healthcare settings.

These findings substantiate claims of a "consistent and systematic pattern of discrimination," as the report states, where Christians faced denial of aid, viewpoint suppression, harassment, and selective prosecutions. They resonate with The Danbury Institute's mission to highlight threats to life and liberty, particularly in areas like the sanctity of life and religious liberty.

Summary of Recommendations and Actions

The task force's report is preliminary, committing to a detailed follow-up by February 2026 and a final report thereafter. In the interim, it outlines immediate and ongoing steps to rectify the discovered bias, emphasizing restoration of religious liberties under the law.

Key Recommendations:

  • Agency Surveys and Policy Revisions: All federal agencies must conduct internal surveys to identify lingering anti-Christian policies, revise discriminatory rules (e.g., on religious accommodations, vaccine mandates, and gender ideology), and rescind biased regulations.

  • Enforcement of Protections: Strengthen application of laws like the FACE Act to equally protect places of worship and pregnancy centers; prioritize religious liberty in healthcare and education decisions.

  • AI and Bias Detection Tools: Develop artificial intelligence systems to review grants, contracts, and policies for anti-Christian bias, ensuring neutral administration of federal benefits and grants.

  • Interagency Cooperation and Faith-Based Initiatives: Reconstitute faith-based councils dismantled under Biden, foster collaboration across departments, and track implementation progress with regular reporting.

  • Training and Accountability: Mandate training on religious freedom for federal employees and establish accountability measures for officials who perpetuate bias.

Actions Already Taken:

  • Agencies have begun dismissing unjust lawsuits against Christian organizations and individuals, such as those for praying and worshiping at abortion clinics under the FACE Act.

  • Revisions to rules on religious exemptions and DEI initiatives are underway, with some departments like DOD reviewing past complaints (flagging 112 potential cases of bias in 2023-2024).

  • The task force held its inaugural meeting on April 22, 2025, gathering testimonies from victims like Paul Vaughn and Phil Mendes, and directed members to submit detailed remedial plans.

Under President Trump and Attorney General Bondi's leadership, the report vows that "the days of anti-Christian bias in the federal government are over," reaffirming faith as a protected liberty. This represents a critical step toward safeguarding religious liberty and Judeo-Christian principles in American policy.
